Synaptics have announced that it’s ClearForce technology will be coming to Android devices in 2016, this will allow for features similar to the 3D Touch experience found on most recent iPhone devices like the iPhone s6. The first phones integrating this feature will be shipping early next year.
ClearForce works by responding to the pressures used by the user of the device when interacting and offering an alternative menu if a users taps lightly to if a user taps heavily.

It’s expected that this will open up whole new possibilities for app developers.
Synaptics have commented “working closely with leading global OEMs and LCMs to deliver this new dimension in touch with force-enabled smartphones expected to ship in early 2016.”
