Hello. This is Darren Edwards, The One Point's Head of Television, and this is where I'll be posting my blog entries about The One Point (TOP)'s TV and film output.

Me? I relocated to Hull from Lincoln in 2003 to study a Media Technology BSc (Hons) degree at Lincoln Uni's Hull Campus on George St. City centre, right in the thick of things. During those three years I worked for TOP's Group MD, Martin Lauer, on the telesale team, and also, after the BBC invested £25m into its Hull HQ,  I co-founded/head of production'd a BBCi channel entitled Spark TV. Spark was broadcast via the BBC's portal on the KITT set-top box. Spark went on to win a RTS award for Innovation, I graduated with a first, and stayed in Hull to founder a small production company X-GF Media.

When it came time for X-GF to expand, Martin and TOP was the natural first choice. The One Point and X-GF Media merged, and consequently, my relationship with Martin and The One Point now spans almost 8 years.

TOP's TV/film output includes commissioned broadcast pilots ('Show Me The Golf', Setanta; 'Singing With The Enemy', BBC Three/Endemol); sports (HULLFC.TV); corporate (William Hague MP, Antony Worrall Thompson, BP); charity ('Devil's Kitchen', KCFM Smile); music promos, and everything else in-between.

Sometimes the blogs will be a bit personal, sometimes about the production workflow, sometimes backstage celebrity gossip, and sometimes about the clients themselves -- i.e. how we've natured our portfolio and retained clients for many years. It'll always be a good read so stay tuned!
